    The PWM controller uses the digital output of the microprocessor to control the analog circuit   It adopts three-stage charging method: strong charge, balanced charge, and floating charge. The PWM solar controller solves the problems of battery dissatisfaction and short battery life, but the solar panels are not fully utilized.

    MPPT solar controller refers to the solar controller with the function of "Maximum Power Point Tracking". The MPPT solar controller can detect the voltage and current of the solar panel in real time, and continuously track the maximum power (P=U*I) , So that the system always charges the battery with the maximum power. The MPPT tracking efficiency is 99%, and the power generation efficiency of the whole system is as high as 97%. The battery charging stage is divided into MPPT charging, constant voltage equalizing charging and constant voltage floating charging.

    The PWM controller technology is mature, the circuit is simple and reliable, the price is cheap, and it is suitable for small systems. MPPT controllers are more expensive than PWM controllers, but MPPT controllers have higher charging efficiency, especially in cold climates.
