The usual lighting in the workplace inside and outside the production plant should ensure sufficient brightness. The lighting in the instrument panel equipped with water level gauges, pressure gauges, vacuum gauges, thermometers, various recording instruments, stair passages, and all narrow places near the rotating parts of the machine and high-temperature surfaces should be especially bright and adequate.
Emergency lighting must also be provided at the operation panel, important meters (such as water level gauges, etc.), main stairs, passages and other places. Emergency lighting fixtures should be selected according to the different requirements of the place. Important power system main control rooms, automatic control system pivot stations, confidential agencies, hotels, conference halls, large hospitals, stations, airports and larger public entertainment venues should all be equipped with automatic emergency lighting input devices.
In addition, a considerable number of complete flashlights should be available at the workplace for use when necessary.
Matters needing attention in the lighting of industrial plants:
1. For lighting, select appropriate illuminance according to visual requirements, nature of work and environmental conditions, and adopt appropriate brightness distribution and uniformity of lighting to reduce unnecessary shadows and make the visual space clear;
2. Correctly select light sources and lamps, limit glare, and improve the safety of operations and activities under light;
3. No flicker is required to reduce irritability and anxiety;
4. Reasonable selection of light sources to reduce the adverse effects of light, heat and ultraviolet radiation on people and objects.
